CSABA ZVEKAN of EXORCISM talks exclusively on Rockoverdose about the new album and the band.

The song ideas for Exorcism started out as early as 2006. The whole thing started out when I purchased a used GIBSON Les Paul Black Beauty from the 80'ies and started playing guitar again. I got hooked instantly on the sound of the instrument and many cool riffs have emerged. The concept and mood of the songs were pretty similar so I started structuring and recording more and more of them. I then added keyboard parts to give it more atmosphere and depth, programmed the drum parts and played all the bass parts for it as well. Then after all was done I started laying down some vocals tracks and from the little snippets that I started out with they have become real songs. Now the only thing I could not do was the guitar solos. I then asked a good friend of mine who then added some preliminary solos that turned out pretty good.

With this demo in hand I asked a friend in 2007 to help me shop a deal with his manager at the time. There was supposedly no interest so I put the songs on the big pile of CD's of  demos and left it at that for now hahahhaha.

Now back to EXORCISM and how we came up with the name. When I started working with ROCK'N'GROWL Management  in 2011 I showed the owner AXEL WIESENAUER all the material that was worth mentioning. He liked the EXORCISM songs and explained it might come in to play at a later point in time.

GOLDEN CORE RECORDS have heard the demo songs and have offered us a release in 2014.

The songs I've made here are what you all call "doom metal". In the beginning I had to look up the name and it's meaning. I was under the impression I was making "Heavy Metal" which was pretty much what I 've been doing all my life anyway hahahahaha. My voice is influenced and sounds a bit like a cross from RONNIE JAMES DIO meets ROB HALFORD with a twist of IAN GILLAN. So I wanted to craft the songs in the veins of BLACK SABBATH, JUDAS PRIEST and DEEP PURPLE that would fit my timbre and style of singing. The lyrics are also dark themed with focus on end time and dooms day scenarios. One particular songs topic is about the movie "EXORCISM of EMILY ROSE" where I'm singing about the exorcism and casting out the demons. The title of the song is of course also "Exorcism" and AXEL WIESENAUER our manager was like: "Hey, why don't we use EXORCISM for the band name". So I agreed and we took it from there creating all the logos and band name designs built on the name EXORCISM.

So when discussions with our label GOLDEN CORE RECORDS matured and a deal was close to signing we needed a line up. At that time I was on tour with RAVEN LORD and saw that me and JOE STUMP got along really good. So I though I'd ask him if he wanted to be a part of this new "doom metal" project. LUCIO MANCA is a hard working musician and can play pretty much anything. I could depend on his professionalism so I wanted him in the team as well. Now it was up to the last piece of the puzzle looking for the right drummer to complete the line up. After a Worldwide search we found GARRY KING as the best fit for our band.  So here you have it. A pretty much brand new band that is currently in the studio recording our debut album that should be coming out in early 2014.
