Die neue 40th Anniversary Edition von ELVIS PRESLEYS präsentiert die letzten großen Studio Session im RCA Studio C in Hollywood vom Mai bis Juni 1975. Erstmals ist auf dem Album neben dem Original auch ein alternativer Mix der Songs zu hören - ohne die damals kontrovers diskutierten Overdubs. Auf der Bonus-CD gibt es eine Liveaufnahme seiner Südstaaten Tour aus diesem Zeitraum. Bisher war dieser Mitschnitt nur auf der limitierten 8-LP Box  „Elvis Aron Presley“ (Erst-VÖ 1980) erhältlich.

Das Album bietet Elvis Presleys Interpretationen von Klassikern wie Tom Jones “Green, Green Grass Of Home”, Don McLeans “And I Love You So” oder zum Beispiel von The Pointer Sisters “Fairytale”. Dazu das Rock’n’Roll angehauchte “T-R-O-U-B-L-E”, -  ein Top 40 Hit.
