BURNING was founded in the year 2013 by Jan Engelkes (Chainz). Together with Andy Haandrikman (The Wounded) and Johnny Karst he started the search for a singer and they found Hugo Koch (Rise & Burn , Rumbones) for that job. The band was completed with the recruitment of Renee Knegt in the line up.
Their first single Something Is Lurking In The Dark, was recorded in March of 2014, and was premièred live at the Very 'Eavy festival 2014. The single is supported by a video, available on YouTube; htttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCSuC6Ep5Qw The video has been viewed almost 40.000 times and the band sold 350 copies of their single!
Directly after the release of the single the band start writing new songs fort he first full album. “Nightmares” was recorded in November/December 2015 at the “Dirty Bird Studio” in Hoogeveen and produced/mixed by Fredde Kadeth (Massive Assault, Ear Danger, Burning Hatred). BURNING was influenced by bands such as Black Sabbath (Ozzy era) , Iron Maiden and Ghost but have their own unique fresh sound. Dutch Thriller author Bronja Hoffschlag seemed tob e a huge fan of the band and offered to write some lyrics fort he album. She ended up with the lyrics for no less than 3 songs!
There was serious interest from well known Metal Record Labels but BURNING decided to release the album on their own “Burn” label in combination with a fantastic distribution deal with Crazy Diamond/Tonefloat Records.
