Chris Wolstenholme (Muse):
"I had heard that Rick planned a solo album, and of course said that I would consider it a massive honour for me to contribute. There was talk of us writing and recording together, but the last conversation I had with anybody about it was on 17th December 2016 before the tragic news broke on 24th. When it became obvious later that Rick had in fact nearly completed the album, I went into the studio to do a bass part for the track Long Distance Love. The producer then asked if I could double-track one of Rick's guitar lines - basically replicate it for him. Take it from me, it was harder than anyone would imagine. Rick's strength as a player was his immediately recognisable style; very staccato, like his left hand was constantly bouncing off the strings. It's very hard to do, and I've never seen anyone else do it quite like him. But then, there never as anyone quite like Rick."
Brian May (Queen):
"The track has all the wonderful innocence and and charm that were Parfitt's hallmarks. We're all sad that he was taken away from us too soon - but this track and this album will be a great testament to his life and work. Parfitt was born to Rock !! Rock on Rick ! Bri"
Bob Young:
"I’ve countless special memories of our fifty years as good friends, not all of them repeatable, and feel lucky to have grown up on and off the road with him and the band, especially from 1968, through the crazy seventies and into the early eighties. Tough and unpredictable as it could be sometimes there was never really a dull moment when Rick was around and in the eyes of many, he was always the fast living, car loving, headline grabbing blonde rock star that enjoyed the good and sometimes bad life but to those who knew him well he was much more than just that.
I’ve been fortunate to co-write many songs with Quo over the years and of the ones Rick and I wrote together ‘Living On An Island’ and ‘Mystery Song’ will always be amongst my personal favourites. I guess the good thing about songs is when they’ve been recorded and released they can last forever especially with everything now so accessible and so Rick will always be remembered and easily found at the click of a button. He was a one-off and I’m glad to say we stayed mates for all of our adult lives"
Alan Lancaster (Status Quo 1963-1985):
"Rick was instrumental to the classic Status Quo sound. His powerful and unique rhythm guitar style, along with his energetic vocals, were crucial to the chemistry, and success of the band. He was comfortably seated in “Quo”, but, often ventured outside of his comfort zone; to explore different ways, in which to express himself musically. Some examples can be heard in “Quo” recordings, such as the intro’s to “Whatever You Want” & “4500 Times’, and songs like “Lonely Man’, etc. This album presents that ‘otherside’ of Rick’s creativity.
Although Rick’s tragic passing, deprived him from completing his album; his spirit lives on, through the production of this immortalising record, embodying his last workings. For me it’s a reminder of all the years and great times we spent together — whether it was work or play. Rick, always stayed a best mate and friend.
Although our plans, along with John Coghlan, to perform together again, will never happen; he did leave us with some amazing recorded performances. This album, shares a part of him, that only a few of us knew & loved. Viva La Rick!“
John "Rhino" Edwards (Status Quo 1986 – heute):
"Hurricane Rick always wanted me to play on his album, Lonesome Road was just up my street, Ready Steady Rock. It was great to hear Halloween after such a long time, that was the first track I ever recorded with him, back in 1985, great memories there. I miss the stupid jokes and the grinding guitar, it's good to be able to pay my musical respects to Ricardo Parfait".
