Goodness me, has it been one strange spring. The world’s all but closed, the people are confined to their homes and we’ve got every reason in the book to mope.
This predicament seems to be here to stay, but we’re going to get over it together. Now there’s a reason to smile like a horse too, because Helsinki’s melodic rock heavyweights Brother Firetribe are gearing up for the release of their new album, Feel the Burn, and once again, it’s an instant melodic rock classic. But that’s stating the obvious. With their new guitar player Roope Riihijärvi filling the large boots left vacant by one Emppu Vuorinen, the Tribersters, again, are in it to win it. They’ve already bestowed us with an impressive streak of killer tunes such as One Single Breath, Heart Full of Fire, I Am Rock, For Better and for Worse and the only possible soundtrack for a Rocky movie never made, Taste Of A Champion (which I played to a potato, and now it's deadlifting 100 kgs of weight) and they, if anyone sure know how to paint the town red and put the smile back on your face. To prove the album’s mettle, Feel the Burn is preceded by three singles, the fierce up-tempo mood lifter Rock in the City and passionately intense Bring On the Rain, that has a vide that strangely almost prophesied the now apparent American comeback of drive-in movies, a phenomenon that was almost buried in the sands of time.
May 22nd saw the release of Night Drive third single of the album. This forthcoming fifth batch of fantabulous party anthems was coproduced by the band and Jimmy Westerlund (Reckless Love, One Desire). Feel the Burn not only lives up to the band’s sky-high standards, but ups the ante once more. Once again, Tomppa’s lush keyboard licks embrace the skies, Pekka’s debonair crooning arrests the ladies and have the rest doubt their sexuality. Jason and Hannes form the formidable pair to lay down the pulse and put the fun in fundamental groove. Last but not least, the new kid Roope, largely a concealed weapon up to now, comes out all guns blazing to show everyone that people who shine don't need a spotlight.
Stop moping. Get up and live. It is time to FEEL THE BURN.
