DeVicious veröffentlichen Comic-Buch Serie “Dollhouse”
Over the last few weeks DeVicious sporadically teased the name “Dollhouse” on the music group’s socials fully aware that people would mistake it for their new music release, today they want to give you a first look on this extremely ambitious and awesome side project.
Before they tell you more about “Dollhouse”, let’s answer the question all of you have on your mind…”WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?”
The band comments: “Well obviously it is world domination but there is also a more practical explanation to it. When the pandemic hit Germany and the lockdown forced us to cancel the cover shoot for the 4th album, we decided to create our own model. Alex (Frey) used to be a Game Designer before DeVicious, he worked on several AAA Titles, and he had the knowledge, hardware and software to create a cover shoot with a CGI-Model. Once we saw the first results and realized that we could make our protagonist jump from a burning helicopter, walk on the moon or fly an airplane we knew we had to use that and give our fans something special, a tailormade story that a rock crowd would love. With the ability to create worlds the way we want to, we also saw the potential to use that in our next music videos, we could play anywhere in any situation via green screen and make it look awesome.”
What is Dollhouse about?

Without spoiling the story for you, a very vague description what Dollhouse is all about.

The Story
…is about 5 Girls from a far away planet that come to earth to protect something that is very dear to us all and plays a significant role to keep the people on earth in balance. There will be Villains, Super Villians, Martial Arts, Science-Fiction, Mystery, Comedy and Romance.
As of today we have created over 100 characters, each supporting character has a 5 pages backstory, each main character has a 20 pages backstory. Each Location, Venue, Planet has its own backstory and history and a particular meaning. Everyone who thought at this point that we simply created 5 girls in a Latex Suit because it is nice to look at will be surprised who elaborate and deep the story is. We have spent 5 months developing the story and 2 months of creating the backstories. We have created over 200 locations 7 million Objects and 13 Million Textures.
Synergies
A lot of bands are using mythology and ancient fantasy stories for their lyrics, there are 30 bands alone singing about a hammer, most of them created their own universe to write about. We will now be able to do the same in a way more worldly way, about things you can identify with. If you don’t care about the comics, nothing about DeVicious will change for you you still get decent lyrics that you will understand, if you know the comics you get a deeper look into a character’s soul, which should be very rewarding if you are nerdy enough.
The Girls / The Characters
Each of the 5 girls is tied to a member in the band, you will be able to tell who is who based on their names, we won’t spoil that for you because we know you will figure it out.
The 5 Main Characters are: Voxy Vicious, Axenya, Groove, Kee & Batteria
Each of them has specific character traits of the real life person, while we are telling you a fantasy story we will also tell you more about us, maybe even more than we should. :-)
The Look and Feel
While we could blow up the graphics to an extent where you cannot tell the difference between CGI or Real Life (Bicycle Pictures) we decided to only use half of the graphic power to make it look less like a photo story and more like an animated comic book. Our Graphics Engine follows real life rules, Lights, Shadow, Weather, Gravity is a real life simulation which was necessary to achieve if we want to use the world we have created in our music videos.
The Audience
We have created the story for an adult audience, while there will never be full frontal nudity, the story is mature and of course with 5 girls like that we will trigger certain impulses not suitable for children. We made sure that the story is told on several levels, suitable for a broad audience. If you are usually not into comic books, it will rather feel like a TV Series, if you are a comic book nerd we will have a gazillion of easter eggs for you and if you are a rocker there will be 7 gazillion legendary Rock N Roll references.
Our Promise
we will not over promote Dollhouse on band page, we are still a band and not a comic book company, many people don’t want anything to do with this side project. The idea is to have both things running separately on their own and only connect it when it is relevant to the music. In the first weeks we will continue to post on both sides and until we have new songs to offer, from this point forward the comics will be a stand-alone project.
