Från Mars - neue Single und Video "Amalia"

Amalia is a depiction of the fate of an elderly woman who takes the listener to a secluded home hidden by the darkness of the forest. One day the trees call to her and something beyond this world demands to be found. She listens and walks deeper into the forest.

The song continues the band From Mars' journey into the more psychedelic and stoner-influenced area. With Swedish lyrics, Analog synth, Fuzzy bass and powerful heavy guitars that give the song a sound that is difficult to find anywhere else.

"As Amalia is less abstract in terms of lyrics than previous productions, we had the opportunity to create a video that follows the same pattern as the lyrics. We wanted to weave in the forest as the main theme for the video as much of the material is recorded outdoors. The combination of the cult forest theme, an old Hi8 camera and a vintage color palette is what gives this video its special character. The video is produced by the band and edited by Alexander (drums). "

BIOGRAPHY
It all started at a party in 2018. After a long conversation about band tattoos and music, Alexander (drums) and Edvin B (guitar) decided to start a band together. A few parties later, Joel (bass), Sandra (vocals), William (guitar), Edvin L (synth) had joined and From Mars were a fact.
In the summer of 2020, they participated and won the March county final in P4 Next with the song Hej KP, produced by Kjell Nästén.

>From Mars is a heavier rock band with a multifaceted sound. The songs are a futuristic anthem for the prog movement with themes concerning the outer edges of the universe and northern primeval forests

The music is influenced by several different rock genres and shaped by the Swedish mentality with a romance to the wild nature. Themes in the texts are often existential but sometimes also with a comic or absurd dispute open to self-interpretation and reflection. Bands that inspired the sound include Black Sabbath, Tool and Swedish 70s prog.

Releasing the single Marsfolk in the autumn of 2020, the band was discovered by the local record company Idle North and in February 2021 a collaboration began. Earlier in 2021, they released the songs Medvetslös(Unconscious) and Snö på Hawaii (Snow in Hawaii). Amalia will be the third single to be released together with the record company and also the last single before the upcoming self titled album that will be released in the spring of 2022.

>From Mars loves to play live and is without a doubt Umeå's hardest working musicians/ band. They are young, hungry and despite an ongoing pandemic with strict restrictions, they have managed to complete fourteen gigs. They have performed live on Swedish radio, Trästockfestivalen and Luleå Kulturnatta.
