IRONSTONE veröffentlichen EP 'The Place I Cannot Find'
Today Melbourne progressive metal outfit IRONSTONE release their highly anticipated second EP, ‘The Place I Cannot Find’.
IRONSTONE’s new EP steps things up, both in depth and complexity, showcasing the rapid evolution of the band since their debut EP ‘Prophecy’. These new songs cover various themes, delving into personal exploration, growth and the strong desire to find your place in the world. A place of belonging and acceptance.
“I feel as if we spend our lives in search of this concept, seeking true happiness and contentment. We forget that the obstacles and conflicts preventing us from reaching this perceived destination are the very same that fundamentally form our character and shape who we are” says guitarist Edward Warren.
With an emotional range that passes through deep reflection and anguish to desperation and rage, the songs feel more like stories or paintings than a traditional, rigid construct. They push and pull, drawing you in through memorable hooks, crushing breakdowns, melodic choruses and unexpected detours. Featuring heavy low tuned guitars, technical rhythm and atmospheric layers, this intricate soundscape is set off by Dan Charlton’s vocals, demonstrating colour and scope all of their own. Sensitive and heartfelt one moment, explosive and aggressive the next, his transition from clean to scream feels fluid and effortless, his message authentic and raw.
“Our focus on each songs' journey rather than the final destination is in parallel with the overarching concept of the EP. This marks the beginning of a new era for us. Paired with this more natural, unstructured approach to creating progressive, heavy music are the lyrics, which are more vulnerable, personal and self-aware than ever before. We’re so proud of this release and the way we’ve poured ourselves into these songs” says Edward Warren
Mixed by Chris Themelco of Monolith Studios and mastered by Acle Kahney of Tesseract, the six track EP has a run time of just under 30 minutes.
The front and back covers feature art created with AI, utilising a new and exciting technology.
IRONSTONE are:
Dan Charlton - Lead Vocals
Edward Warren - Lead Guitar, Vocals

Rapidly rising as one of Melbourne's brightest progressive metal outfits, IRONSTONE demonstrate an astounding level of musical ingenuity as they blend layers of crushing, low tuned guitars and technical rhythm with groove, hooks and melody galore. Greatly influenced by progressive metal giants such as Periphery, Tesseract and Twelve Foot Ninja, IRONSTONE craft clever, quirky songs that offset melodic choruses and atmospheric layers with heavy breakdowns and extreme vocals. The result is a juggernaut of modern metal that is sophisticated and hard hitting.
