ENTERPRISE EARTH Gitarrist Gabe Mangold über die neue Hymne “‘The World Without Us’ is intended to follow directly after the ending of ‘Death Magick.’ There’s also an obvious juxtaposition between the two songs, which is also intended. When it comes to our music, we have always enjoyed being a multidimensional band and don’t like to limit ourselves to one sound. With “The World Without Us” being more melodic, uplifting yet energetic, and progressive compared to the sheer intensity and aggression found in ‘Death Magick,’ we feel that together these two songs capture a broad range of what we offer musically. THE CONTORTIONIST neuer Song/Video "Geocentric Confusion"
Die Progressive-Rock-Band The Contortionist veröffentlicht heute ein neues Box-Set, "Retrospective: Live from Atlanta". Das Boxset enthält drei Doppel-LPs mit Aufnahmen von den 2021 Live-Stream-Auftritten der Band. Die drei Live-Streams decken alle Facetten der Bandkarriere ab, darunter eine komplette Albumaufführung des von der Kritik hochgelobten Albums "Clairvoyant" sowie ein komplettes Set, das sich auf den härteren Katalog der Band konzentriert.
Das umfangreiche Paket enthält über 30 Tracks und ist in einer limitierten Auflage von nur 1500 Exemplaren weltweit erhältlich. Es wird in einer Box mit Prägung ausgeliefert und enthält für jedes der drei Live-Stream-Sets ein alternatives Cover mit durchsichtigem Acetat-Overlay. Jedes Album wurde auf 12" 180g Doppelvinyl gepresst und kommt als Gtefold. Fans können das Boxset hier kaufen.
Guitarist Cameron Maynard sagt, “When we initially conceived this project, our objective was to give something to our fans amidst the inability to physically perform to a live audience. As it turns out, we were so happy with the end result that we thought it would only be appropriate to release in a more tangible way. We have always wanted to release a box set like this, and after seeing some original ideas for the art, we knew it had to be done.”
Keyboardist Eric Guenther fügt hinzu: “Although the motivation for this project was born out of uncertainty and cancellations, the opportunity to perform and create the definitive musical artifact for this band’s history became a silver lining. To me, this is years of work finally realized, and thanks to our fans’ response, we were able to make this project timeless with a proper release. This is the best representation of The Contortionist to date, and to us, the recording that defines the identity of this band and how we sounded in the first 10+ years. Thanks to our fans for making this band real. Also, we can’t wait to share what we have been working on.”
