Die norwegischen Pioniere des Avantgarde/Progressive Black Metal BORKNAGAR veröffentlichen ihr kommendes, monumentales 12. Studioalbum "Fall" am 23. Februar 2024 weltweit über ihren langjährigen Labelpartner Century Media Records.

BORKNAGAR sagen über “Nordic Anthem”: “So many gods. So many beliefs. So much conflict. “Nordic Anthem” is about rejecting any kind of doctrine, religious or political. It’s about going to your own nature, your inner core, and finding strength and freedom. Our perspective is a northern one – we’re from the north after all – but this is a firm stance that is universally applicable. It’s about finding and trusting your own values, your own heritage, and standing up against gods and authorities trying to push doctrine to control you, or corrupt you. This is our collective anthem. We won’t bend our knee to any god!”

NECROPHOBIC veröffentlichen “As Stars Collide” vom neuen Album “In the Twilight Grey”
“The most important song on the album for me personally”, sagt Sebastian Ramstedt (lead guitar) über “As Stars Collide”, die zweite Single von NECROPHOBIC’s neuem Album “In the Twilight Grey”. “It starts off with the main melody, that was actually something my mother sang to me as a kid in the early 70’s. It is almost like a chant, or a dark lullaby. I wanted to honor her melody, but put it in my own context. I used one of the oldest stories ever told and drew inspiration from Innana’s Descent - the tale where the morning and evening star meet in the underworld to decide whether good or evil should reign. I wanted to create something that stretched beyond the metal barriers.”

OV SULFUR bringen neue Single "Hivemind (feat. Mental Cruelty)" auf den Markt im Vorfeld der monumentalen "Beyond the Eternal" Nordamerikatour
OV SULFUR sind stolz darauf, die Veröffentlichung ihrer neuesten Single "Hivemind" mit Lukas Nicolai von MENTAL CRUELTY bekannt geben zu können. Die Veröffentlichung erfolgt im Vorfeld ihrer mit Spannung erwarteten Co-Headline-Tour "Beyond the Eternal Tour" mit MENTAL CRUELTY durch Nordamerika. "Hivemind" zeigt OV SULFURs konsequente Haltung gegen konventionelle religiöse Narrative und Herdenmentalität, ein Thema, das sich nahtlos an MENTAL CRUELTYs etablierte Auflehnung in ihrer Musik anschließt. Chase Wilson, Gitarrist von OV SULFUR, beschreibt den Track als eine Mischung aus komplizierten technischen Riffs und einem einzigartigen Swing, der die Abkehr von traditionellen Metal-Normen unterstreicht.
"'Hivemind' is Ov Sulfur's rallying cry against the herd mentality that has turned religion from hopeful to hateful for centuries—to the point where it's basically part of its ethos,” erklärt Wilson. “The song takes a cue from its celebration of avoiding the typical, stylistically, by taking a left-hand path: embracing off-kilter swing in its dramatic chorus, contrasted with some of their most technical riffing. Lukas Nicolai of Mental Cruelty really elevated the brutality. It's an honor to have our Century Media labelmates and fellow blackened deathcore leaders on a song with us ahead of our co-headlining tour across North America."

Big Big Train präsentieren Video für ‘Miramare’; zweiter Track von ‘The Likes Of Us’
Die preisgekrönte Progressive-Rock-Band Big Big Train wird am 1. März 2024 ihr 15. Studioalbum "The Likes Of Us" veröffentlichen. Das Album ist die erste vollständige Sammlung von Songs der international agierenden Gruppe seit dem unerwarteten Tod des langjährigen Leadsängers David Longdon Ende 2021. Es markiert nicht nur das Debüt des neuen Frontmanns Alberto Bravin, einem ehemaligen Mitglied der italienischen Band Premiata Forneria Marconi, sondern läutet auch den Beginn einer neuen Beziehung mit InsideOutMusic ein, nachdem die Gruppe ihre Musik fast zwei Jahrzehnte lang selbst veröffentlicht hat.
Heute freut sich die Band, einen zweiten Track aus dem kommenden Album zu veröffentlichen. "Miramare" ist eine bearbeitete Version eines Songs, der in einem längeren Format auf "The Likes Of Us" zu hören ist. Gregory Spawton sagt: “BBT is known for its story songs, and I was keen to find a story which is set in Italy. Alberto lives in Trieste and mentioned the story of Maximilian and Carlotta, which was both a romantic (but doomed) love story and also a tale of the end of empires.
Miramare was their castle home, a castle of dreams, set on the shore just outside Trieste. It turned out to be a grand folly and a place of madness and nightmares. Alberto had written a lovely piece of music and melody to set the words to and so it was simply a process of reading some books on the history and finding the way to tell the story.”
Alberto Bravin fügt hinzu: “Having grown up in Trieste, and recently returned here after living for some years in London and Milan, the Miramare castle has been a backdrop for most of my life.
Putting the story of Maximilian and Carlotta into music with Greg has been hugely satisfying for me. It was very fulfilling to co-write this song together and create what will hopefully be regarded as a Big Big Train future classic. With all its twists and turns as the story progresses, Miramare should be great to play live as well.”
