With their third full-length album “Withering Shine (...Into Oblivion)”, German Melodic Death Metallers MINDREAPER present their opus magnum so far!
Packed with hymns for eternity, the band expands their music with new symphonic elements and a unique sound between tradition and modernity. The songs are all catchy and stand for the highest musical standards in a genre that is still one of the most popular, but also one of the most fiercely contested. On “Withering Shine (...Into Oblivion)”, Mindreaper easily manage to fire one powerful song after the other at listeners who aren't squeamish. Melody meets brutality, skill meets relocation, emotion meets calculation! The band takes the listener on a journey through the silent testimonies of past existences and shows them their own transience and irrelevance. Old wounds are torn open and the lowest socio-cultural structures are processed with a constant eye on possible apocalyptic dystopias. It is not the raised index finger, but the middle finger that wields the pen and the sword!
