Horror Dance Squad bei Eurovision 2025

Could a metal band represent Estonia at Eurovision 2025? Listen and decide!

Horror Dance Squad has just released their fresh single The Rebel Reborn, an homage to the nu metal and punk bands the members grew up with. The song has also been selected as a semi-finalist for Eesti Laul 2025, the song contest that chooses Estonia’s submission to Eurovision.

One of the most talked-about metal bands in Estonia, Horror Dance Squad’s third album All I See Is Black (May 2024) received the title of Album of the Week on Estonia’s public radio station Raadio 2 as well as a 4/5 rating from one of the country’s most seasoned metal critics.

Their new single The Rebel Reborn is about maintaining one’s youthful passion and will to make the world a better place while resisting the compulsion to become complacent, indifferent, or even apathetic as you grow older. And although the band members may all be almost over forty, Horror Dance Squad is all about maintaining their youthful energy while delivering ferocious beats, breakdowns, and vocals through an infectiously positive live show.

"With The Rebel Reborn, we wanted to write a song that would remind us of the music we all listened to as teenagers – the music that inspired us to start our first bands and embark on this journey. As we get older, our focus and energy change and other responsibilities, such as starting a family and a career, take up our time. But that shouldn't stop us from working to make the world a better place," explains singer Ian Karell.

Horror Dance Squad have been spreading their infectious message and positivity on stages and in moshpits throughout Estonia, the Baltics, and beyond since 2014, including appearances at Wacken Metal Battle (2016) and Impericon (Leipzig, 2023).

What are others saying?
"Horror Dance Squad is the raddest metal band in Estonia at the moment. Every song on the new album is a maximum moshpit maker. It works perfectly!” - Koit Raudsepp, Raadio 2

"Estonia’s Horror Dance Squad send riffs flying out in spades with their urgent fire of electronic-laced metalcore. Possessing uplifting choruses that call to mind new Bring Me The Horizon and Architects, the Tallinn metallers serve sweetly melodic clean vocals spliced with crunchy screams between walls of blustering noise so powerful it feels as though a Baltic blizzard has made its way inside the venue. Your next new metalcore fave!" - Liz Scarlett, Metalhammer / Louder

4/5 Review of All I See Is Black: "The aesthetic is very gothic at times and the goal is to appear grandiose, which turns out quite well. Horror Dance Squad seems to understand that metalcore's close relative is pop-punk, and the band drills the infectious stadium anthems from there into the listener's head with success. The album has made a bold decision: despite the distinctly modern metal vibe, the songs are filled with an incredible amount of different genre-bending throwbacks." Kristjan Karron, Eesti Ekpress
