Kaiserslautern-based German rock band Satin White announce the artwork, tracklist and release date for their upcoming album Born.
The album will be released on 29 May 2025. Satin White is the project of guitarist Frank Schnitzer and bassist & vocalist Carsten Kettering. Carsten has also been engaged as bassist for Ross The Boss.
Born takes the listener into a soundscape that was produced clearer and more puritan than the the debut Not Grayed At All. Only a few synthetic sounds have been integrated because the focus is on the rock guitar sound of Frank Schnitzer. The guitarist works with a love for the detail on his guitar soli and rhythm guitar that are the foundation of Born. Bassist and vocalist Carsten Kettering provides with his distinctive voice the ability to Born to stand out from the masses.
Born is no concept album but engages with the topics like birth (New-Born) and death (Still-Born) as well as social themes (Well-Born, Low-Born), anxiety (Monster, Lucifer), superstition (Talisman) and great moments (Friend-Song, We Loved Us). Born signifies also a new start for Satin White. After the strong and highly acclaimed debut, the band is encouraged to continue their musical journey.
Bassist & vocalist Carsten Kettering says about Born: “The songs are for me musical time travel. My compositions stand for personal emotions I’ve experienced. I’m very proud that Frank and I brought Born to life and self-produced this album. In contrast to our debut Born is fresher, catchier and rockier.”
The album artwork, all photos and music videos were produced by Andreas Gemmel, who functions as a silent third band member in the background.
SATIN WHITE:
The musical direction of the band SATIN WHITE is in the "rock" genre, with a focus on catchy melodies, groovy rhythms, and recognizable songs. The numerous influences from different genres are purely coincidental and give each song its individuality.
Each song is viewed as a compact and independent work, without focusing on the individual instruments, but rather to create a homogenous overall work.
The meaning of SATIN WHITE is based on the psychology of colors.
The color white represents a new beginning (BORN), unlimited possibilities, and hope for the future. Musically, SATIN WHITE appears fresh and contemporary on the one hand, but on the other, the lyrics, in stark contrast to the music, are rather dark in nature.
Carsten Kettering from Kaiserslautern (Germany) is the former bassist of Ross The Boss (Manowar, The Dictators), who contributed to the songwriting on the albums "New Metal Leader" and "Hailstorm" (AFM Records) as an equal member. With worldwide festival and tour appearances, Carsten actively contributed to the comeback of Ross "The Boss" Friedman.
Carsten played bass for MAJESTY and supported the band live on European tours in 2013. He also appeared as a studio bassist for the album "Banners High" (2013).
With IVORY NIGHT (now HAMMER KING), Carsten released three albums (7-Dawn Of The Night, Machine, The Healing), toured South America with the band, and played at numerous festivals and clubs throughout Europe. Josh Kramer (SAINT) hired Carsten as live bassist for his 2005 "Josh Kramer Of SAINT" festival tour in Germany.
Other projects included BURNING BUSES and MEN OF WAR.
Carsten Kettering has shared the stage with JUDAS PRIEST, JOURNEY, POWERWOLF, GRAVE DIGGER, BATTLE BEAST, PRIMAL FEAR, GUANO APES, and many more.

Frank Schnitzer is a guitar teacher, singer, and multi-instrumentalist without a particular musical style. He took his first steps as a rock guitarist in 1995 with Carsten Kettering, which ultimately led him to SATIN WHITE 24 years later. Since then, he has played both as a permanent member and as a guest musician in various big bands, brass bands, cover rock bands, and band projects in Germany, France, and Spain, such as the "fiesta de la cerveza" in Calella and the German Federal Music Festival in Friedrichshafen. Since 2009, he has been a permanent member of the acoustic duo TRUE VOICES as a singer and guitarist.
