Electro-punk duo The Guilt unleash new version of “Dance to the Revolution” — ten years on, louder and sharper than ever
Electro-punk renegades The Guilt are back with a reborn version of their underground anthem Dance to the Revolution. Originally written and recorded in 2016, the track has been reimagined for 2025 — faster, harder, and with an unflinching intent: to not take part in depression, regression, or oppression.
“We know we are a part of the problem. We hope we can be less of a problem for the global majority and more of a problem for the billionaire minority,” the band states.

Since their rebirth with Lizzy joining the lineup, The Guilt’s live shows have multiplied, and audiences repeatedly called for Dance to the Revolution. While the lyrics and melody were always on point, singer Emma Wahlgren felt the earlier version never matched the urgency of the message:
“The production held it back — it didn’t match the energy I felt singing it. I had a very ambiguous relationship with the old version,” Emma recalls.
That changed during sessions for the new album, when the song resurfaced and demanded attention. Reworked with driving drum machine beats, sharper synth hooks, and an amped-up tempo, the 2025 edition finally carries the fire it was always meant to.
“We are people pleasers. For the people by the people. Also, as Rosa said — if we can’t dance, it’s not our revolution,” Emma & Lizzy explain.
The new version was produced with Alain Steffler at Cat Crossing Studio, who added extra layers of bass synths to ground the track in The Guilt’s current electro-punk sound. Mastering came from Nikolay Evdokimov at Black Ocean Studio.
Dance to the Revolution is more than just a song — it’s an invitation. A call to resist while moving your body, to scream and dance to the beat of a different drum. Ten years on, its message feels sharper and more necessary than ever.
Dance to the Revolution (2025 version) is out October 3, 2025 on all platforms via Icons Creating Evil Art.
