Block Of Flats (Porvoo, Finland) creates powerful and charismatic alternative rock and metal, combining different styles of music in a bold and unique way.
Their sound brings together melodic pop choruses, heavy metal riffs topped with electronic elements and creative arrangements. The band is especially known for their energetic live performances, which have been seen at Finland’s biggest rock festivals and clubs all around Europe.
Now they are releasing a new track, Darkest Days - a dark and emotional metal track written together with rising producer Rami Nykänen. The song dives deep into anxiety and inner struggle, portraying raw moments of panic and despair that feel overwhelming. Yet the rising, empowering chorus brings a strong sense of hope, promising that even the darkest times will eventually pass. The contrast between heavy verses and an uplifting chorus makes the track both a powerful release and an anthem of survival.

”With ‘Darkest Days’ we wanted to create something that pushes people to keep going through their hardest times. It’s a song we know will hit hard live — raw, heavy, but full of hope. Honestly, it’s the kind of track we’d put on ourselves when life feels overwhelming. In this song you can hear the influence of some of our favorite bands like Nothing More, Beartooth and Bad Omens.”
Block Of Flats debut album, No Hope For The Hopeless, was released at the end of 2023. From the very first singles, the songs from the album have been played on the radio and international playlists, gathering listeners across Europe and the United States.
The band is part of Ranka Kustannus and Backbone Management’s roster, which has raised them among the top Finnish rock and metal acts (including Blind Channel, The Rasmus, VV). In the fall of 2025, the band will head on a month-long European tour alongside The Rasmus and The Funeral Portrait, ready to strengthen their place in the international music scene.
The recordings for Block of Flats’ second studio album are underway, with some of the top names in the Finnish metal scene, like Alex Mattsson and Niko Moilanen, involved in production. The band’s goal is clear: to become one of Finland’s most exciting rock/metal bands.
Over the next few weeks, the band will be playing the following cities in Europe as support for The Rasmus:
