Paul Draper veröffentlicht neues Video
Der legendäre Singer-Songwriter und Mansun-Frontmann Paul Draper meldet sich heute mit seinem neuen Album "Mansun Retold" zurück.
Draper hat einige der bekanntesten Songs aus dem Mansun-Repertoire neu interpretiert und sie von Grund auf als akustische Unplugged-Versionen mit kompletter Bandbesetzung neu arrangiert. Parallel zur Albumveröffentlichung erschien ein brandneues Musikvideo zum Song "Comes As No Surprise, Retold", produziert von George Laycock/Blacktide Productions.

Über das neue Video sagte Draper: "Ich fand diesen Song schon immer einen meiner besten, die ich während meiner Zeit bei Mansun geschrieben habe. Ich denke, diese Version übertrifft die Originalaufnahme. Es war eine große Herausforderung, die E-Gitarren mit akustischen Instrumenten zu imitieren, aber ich denke, es ist mir gelungen. Ich hoffe, euch gefällt diese Version."

Aufgenommen in den Loft Studios in Surrey, produzierte Draper das Album gemeinsam mit Paul „PDub“ Walton (The Cure, U2, Björk, Massive Attack, Oasis). Die Aufnahmen beinhalten ein Streichquartett unter der Leitung von Audrey Riley (Muse, Coldplay, Nick Cave), während Julian Fenton, Mansuns Schlagzeuger aus den Anfangstagen, das Schlagzeug spielte. Draper selbst spielt Akustikbass, Akustikgitarre (Lead und Rhythmus) und Klavier.

Draper recently announced a slew of instore performances and signing sessions in February as well as the ‘Mansun – The Hits’ Tour for March 2026.
The instore performances will be stripped back and acoustic whilst the March live shows will see Draper performing all 14 of Mansun’s Top 40 singles including ‘Wide Open Space’, ‘I Can Only Disappoint You’, ‘Taxloss’ and others with his full electric band.
