Written by Lakeview’s Jesse Denaro and Luke Healy alongside Andrew Baylis, Connor Matthews, and Riley Thomas, “Matches” is a gritty, hard-hitting anthem that leans into the chaos of a relationship pushed past its breaking point. Built around the biting refrain — “Matches don’t start fire / Gasoline don’t spill” — the track flips the blame-game on its head, diving into the ways small sparks can ignite something far bigger, particularly when emotions run hot. Equal parts defiant and combustible, the song finds Lakeview leaning fully into their rough-around-the-edges storytelling and high-octane sound.
After making history in 2025 as the first country act to perform at Germany’s Wacken Open Air (the world’s largest heavy metal festival), the US country-rockers are now uniquely announced to perform across four major European rock festivals in 2026 – a feat no other country band has achieved.
Additionally, Lakeview have secured a headline run of European tour dates, bringing their genre-bending blend of metal, pop, and country to the other side of the world for the third time in just two short years.
"This is the biggest international tour we've ever done and we're stoked! We're playing some of our favourite cities and a few new ones we've never been to before. We're working on a brand new show with new music mixed in. This will be a level up from what we've been able to do the past couple of years."
