German hard rockers KICKHUNTER return with their new single ON A WIRE, released on July 1st, a very special date, as it also marks the birthday of guitarist, songwriter and band mastermind Stefan Aurel.
ON A WIRE is the band’s first new song since the 2024 best-of album GREATEST KICKS and also the first track featuring new bassist Marcus Zeroe. The single was produced by Stefan Aurel and Gerd Lehmkuhl, with Lehmkuhl also handling mixing and mastering. From the very first riff, ON A WIRE captures everything that has defined KICKHUNTER since day one. Powerful hard rock grooves with memorable melodies and huge, sing-along choruses. At the same time, the band presents its most modern and refreshing sound yet. Pure classic rock DNA, but without any trace of nostalgia or dust. Driven by energetic guitars, infectious hooks and a chorus that instantly sticks, ON A WIRE is a high-energy homage to the glory days of AC/DC and DEF LEPPARD, while still carrying the unmistakable KICKHUNTER signature.
“As musicians, you’re always huge music fans as well. That’s why it feels only natural not to hide the influences of our favorite bands,” the band says about the spirit behind the new single.
Founded in 2000, KICKHUNTER have stood for honest, handcrafted Hard Rock for more than two decades. Led by vocalist Jörg “J.C.” Wesenberg alongside guitarists Roland Feldmann, Gerd Lehmkuhl and Stefan Aurel, bassist Marcus Zeroe, drummer Karsten Kreppert and Hammond player Ansas Strehlow, the seven-piece band combines classic Hard Rock with barroom charm, Rock’n’Roll attitude and Southern Rock influences. With albums such as Hearts & Bones (2003), Little Monsters (2007), All In (2010), Now Or Never (2023) and Greatest Kicks (2024), KICKHUNTER have earned themselves a solid place in the rock scene.
