At The Gates – Animationsfilm zum kompletten Album
Die schwedischen Pioniere des Melodic Death Metal, At The Gates, haben im vergangenen April über Century Media Records ihr neuestes Studioalbum „The Ghost of a Future Dead“ weltweit veröffentlicht.
Das Album ist eine besondere Hommage an Frontmann Tomas Lindberg, der im September 2025 auf tragische Weise verstorben ist.
Im Rahmen der Veröffentlichungskampagne für „The Ghost of a Future Dead“ hat der langjährige At-The-Gates-Mitarbeiter Costin Chioreanu / http://www.twilight13media.com/ eine umfangreiche konzeptionelle visuelle Geschichte vorbereitet, die die Musik und die Texte des gesamten Albums untermalt. Costin Chioreanu, der für die Zeichnungen, Filmaufnahmen, den Schnitt und die Produktion des Projekts verantwortlich war, äußerte sich dazu wie folgt: „Das ist mit Abstand das intensivste Projekt, das ich je gemacht habe – nicht nur wegen der Umstände, sondern auch, weil das Album so intensiv ist und ein wahnsinniges Tempo für die gesamte Dynamik erfordert. Es ist auch das erste Mal, dass ich ein Video für ein komplettes Albumcover drehe, und ehrlich gesagt glaube ich, dass es in meiner Karriere ein Unikat dieser Art bleiben wird, da ich bei diesem Projekt mehrere meiner Grenzen überschritten habe. Aber ich bin so glücklich, dass ich dieses Meisterwerk für meinen Freund Tomas und seine magische Band fertigstellen konnte, die mir bis ans Ende meiner Zeit hier und darüber hinaus im Herzen und in Erinnerung bleiben werden.“

Costin Chioreanu, who handled the painting, filming, editing and producing the project, checked in with the following comment about it: “This is by far the most intense project I've done, not only due the circumstances but also because the album is so intense and it requires an insane rhythm for the whole dynamic. It is also the first time that I am doing a full album art video and, honestly, I think it will remain singular of this kind in my career, as I've been over several of my limits with this one. But I am so happy that I could finish this monument for my friend Tomas and for his magical band, who will remain with my heart and my memory till the end of my time here and beyond."

In other news, the music of At The Gates will soon be honoured by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in a special event entitled “The Gothenburg Sound”, where several of the band’s iconic songs will be interpreted in symphonic form alongside other material by their peers In Flames and Dark Tranquillity. These special concerts will take place at the Gothenburg Concert Hall on December 3rd, 4th and 5th.
