Following the recent filthifying release of Norwegian black/punk deviants’ HAUST’s third full-length NO via Fysisk Format, this week the label is sponsoring a stateside giveaway with a solid pile of putrid product.
Fans from the United States can swing by American Aftermath from now through July 31st and answer one simple trivia question for a chance to win one of several copies of NO, either on LP or cassette.
Following the recent unveiling of the details on ULCERATE’s impending and highly anticipated fourth LP Vermis, today Relapse has leaked an in-studio video with the Auckland, New Zealand tribe as they meticulously crafted the mammoth album at hometown MCA Studios earlier this year. The combined demolishing power and technical prowess of the music the trio creates is truly jaw-dropping on every one of the band’s releases to date, and watching them hone and construct these anguished hymns piece-by-piece is enthralling for any extreme music musician or ULCERATE devotee.
Today the metal mavericks at Loudwire bring you the latest tones of torment from West Coast death grind deviants, EXHUMED. Titled “Sickened,” the track features on the band’s impending Necrocracy full-length. A ten-track bloodbath of sonic severity, the record serves as EXHUMED’s most psychologically traumatizing, musically precise and lyrically profound creation to date. Necrocracy is clearly EXHUMED’s political manifesto for a new dark day!
A389 Recordings this week announces the signing of Portland-based post-punk trio THE BELLICOSE MINDS.
THE BELLICOSE MINDS likes to keep the music dark, and sinister, always throwing cynical thought to the foreground. Flowing with a dark, early-‘80s Gothic rock edge citing influences from The Chameleons, The Sound, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry and Danse Society, and of course the rain the Northwest continually brings, THE BELLICOSE MINDS has toured in the US and played at key underground punk festivals in Canada since their incarnation in 2008.
New York black metal assault, BLACK ANVIL, have entered the studio with renowned producer J. Robbins (Clutch, The Sword, Coliseum) at Magpie Cage Studios, in Baltimore, Maryland to begin work on the follow up to 2010’s Triumvirate, which saw the band progress to darker and deeper territories. Set for a Spring 2014 release, the band commented on the new material: "This record insists on demanding a broader scope than previous works in order to experience a personal voyage towards demise."
