Im Jahr 2018 wäre Volker Kriegel, der geniale deutsche Fusion-Gitarrist, 75 Jahre alt geworden. Anlässlich seines Geburtstags und gleichzeitig seines 15. Todestags erinnerte die hr-Bigband mit zwei Konzerten an ihn, für die Chefdirigent und Arrangeur Jim McNeely sein Werk jazzorchestral aufbereitete.
