SUFFERING SOULS wurde im Oktober 1994 von Tobias Micko (alias Lord Esgaroth) & Michael Sepulveda damals noch als Dismal gegründet. Im Zuge eines Besetzungswechsels wurde die Band im Januar 1996 in SUFFERING SOULS umbenannt.
